Frequently Asked Questions

Curious about Reiki? Here are answers to some of the most common questions we receive.

Reiki represents 'Universal Life Force Energy' (Rei = Universal, Ki = Life Force). It is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that promotes healing by treating the whole person—body, emotions, mind, and spirit. The result is a profound sense of peace, security, and well-being. It is a simple, natural, and safe method of spiritual healing that balances your energy field.
Pellowah is an Angelic word meaning 'Radical Shift in Consciousness'. Its primary purpose is to awaken your consciousness, unblock meridians, and connect all 12 strands of DNA for activation. Unlike Reiki, Pellowah is a strictly 'hands-off' technique where the practitioner does not touch the body. It is particularly powerful for gaining clarity, shifting deep-seated emotional patterns, and taking a quantum leap in your personal and spiritual growth.
Chi Activation is an advanced energy healing modality that works mainly with the 'Chi' (Vital Life Force) to clear blockages and repair the auric field. It involves attuning to specific frequencies to optimize the body's energy flow, supporting natural self-healing and cell renewal. Clients often report feeling lighter, more grounded, and experiencing a renewed sense of vitality and deep relaxation.
Double Reiki (often called 'Four Hands Reiki') is a supercharged energy healing experience that will blow your mind. With two practitioners working simultaneously, you receive a potent blend of Masculine and Feminine energies, creating a perfect harmonious balance that is difficult to achieve in a standard session. Because you are receiving double the energy flow, a 1-hour session feels equivalent to a 2-hour deep dive. The sensation of four hands working in sync allows you to 'let go' much faster, breaking through energetic barriers and facilitating a profound release. It is a rare and unique offering that accelerates healing and leaves you feeling completely transformed.
Every session is a unique journey into deep relaxation. You will lie comfortably on a massage table, fully clothed (shoes removed), often tucked under a warm blanket with an optional eye covering to help you focus inward. With soft, soothing music playing, you may feel waves of warmth radiating from the practitioner's hands, subtle tingles, or seeing vivid colors behind your closed eyes. It is a peaceful, restorative experience where many clients drift into a dream-like state or deep sleep.
Traditionally, Reiki involves a series of light, non-invasive hand placements on or slightly above the body (head, shoulders, torso, knees, feet). Your comfort is our priority. If you prefer no touch, simply let us know, and we will use a 'hands-off' hovering technique which is equally effective.
Reiki is a complementary therapy that works alongside conventional medicine; it is not a substitute for professional medical treatment. While we cannot ethically or legally promise a 'cure,' many clients report significant stress reduction, pain relief, and improved emotional balance. Scientific studies and anecdotal evidence suggest that by reducing stress and inducing deep relaxation, Reiki may support the body's natural healing abilities and promote a speedier recovery.
No. Reiki is not a religion, nor is it limited to any specific religious or spiritual path. It is a simple, natural method of energy healing based on universal life force ('Rei-Ki'). Because it is energy-based rather than faith-based, it works in harmony with all belief systems. You do not need to change your religion or believe in anything specific to receive the benefits—you simply need to be open to relaxation and healing.
One Reiki is better than no Reiki! We never want to push extra sessions—how often you visit is 100% up to you and your own needs. While there is no official guide, we generally suggest a tailored approach depending on your goals. For addressing a specific condition you want treated, a good 'kickstart' plan is Day 1, then 4 days later, then a week later, then 2 weeks later. From there, monthly maintenance sessions (if you feel the need) are a great way to sustain your well-being. Listen to your body: Your intuition (that 'tug' for Reiki) is a great guide for when you need a session. You can't really have too much Reiki; it's a complementary practice you can use as often as you feel benefits from it. Personally, I love to get a Reiki session once every week or two to keep at my better self.
